its been quite some time now…i knw am d worst blogger ever…dont thnk i even deserve d title blogger…oh well… #isityourblog hehehehe

so its like this, my mind is a very wonderful place and i was with Lami today and we were talking about the colourful lives we lead….that’s a story for another day though.

so i been thinking about love, life and relationships recently. i knw, why bother right? like life isn’t complicated enough….smh….rme

it’s just funny how when ure in a relationship and the person ure with tells u they care so much abut u and they would never hurt u…fastforward to a couple of months down the line (average time period) and they singing a totally different tune. the everyday phone calls stop coming, the giddy feeling u used to experience just fizzles and all ure left with is the nervous anticipation of the inevitable end of the relationship and the billion dollar question, “what the hell happened?”. where did it all go wrong? what did i do? how? when? where? why?

but are there really answers? most times all u get is a “its not u, its me” or a “these things happen” or a simple honest “i have no freaking clue”.

i was on twitter earlier on and these thoughts crossed my mind and i realized that 140 characters weren’t enough to put it all down and so i remembered, i gota blog…matter of fact, i got 2. heheheehe

most times we dont miss the person we were with as much as we miss being in a relationship…u knw, being part of a couple, having that person that’s there for u not cos dey wanna but cos dey ended up with the title of being ur “partner”. dont get me wrong, am not saying having that special someone is a wrong reason for being in a relationship. am just sayin there’s gotta be more to a relationship than that.

some times u even gota look past the fact that he/she makes ur kness weak with just a smile, dat he/she makes u tremble by being so close to u. that just by a simple kiss, ur heart goes into overdrive n ure disoriented for a second or 2.  sometimes u gota look past how they make u feel in ur heart and take a closer look at how they make u feel in ur head. how good are they for u, emotionally, physically, mentally.

and then we get to askin these very common questions which IMHO, don’t have any definite answer…..

how do we know we found the one?

who says its time to move on after a really horrible break up we thought we could never recover from?

how do we know wen we’ve fallen for someone and not the idea of them and wat ‘we’ would be like together?

how do we know we’re ready to love me again?

we could spend the rest of our lives pondering on a milli ‘how do we’ questions or we could just get up, brush ourselves up n say, yea i knw d fall was devastating n all but d climb wasnt half bad, matter’o fact it was exhilarating, refereshing, glorious, wonderful, beautiful….i wanna do it again and by golly, i will. after all, we owe it to ourselves not to dwell on d past but to look to a brighter beter future…one in whch we deserve to be happy and we actually strive to be, no matter d past hurt.

(and to you reading this).. I plan to update this blog as regularly as I can and to finish writing up a post when I start…cos I tend to start up with a few lines,

get sidetracked and come back a week or 2 later (not a good look…yea i know)…Anyhoo, a couple things have been happening with me,so I shall now

proceed to keep y’all up to speed:D

I know I posted dis one before but am soooo excited about it am goin to gtalk about it again:D I got a new video out “Too Fine feat Alaye and MayD”. It was

directed by none other than Clarence Peters(who’s also CEO,Capital Hill Music which is my label). Concept is 1st of its kind in the country. It’s basically me in

different poses with key players in the industry. I had to change clothes like 20 times or more. Big shoutout to everyone who came out that day, really

I also got new singles out on radio.. “Turn By Turn feat YQ & WizKid” “Too Fine feat Alaye & MayD” and “Dem Don Dey Move feat IllBliss,Tha Suspect & Uchie”

I just got back from Port Harcourt over the weekend. I had mahd crazy fun there…PH city is soooo freakin live!!!!! Big shout to al my PH representers!!!

We still awaitin the arrival of THE INVESTMENT…but a little birdie told me the wait would soon be over….THE INVESTMENT drops real soo. Am not gonna giv

an exact day now cos I don’t wana jinx it..lol…but soon n very soon…:D

I have also been nominated for the Soundcity Music Video Awards (SMVAs). I am nominated for 2 categories “Best Female video” and “Discovery of the year”.

Hey everyone!!! Wats d word?! How y’all feeling? Good? Good.lol. Anyhoo, this is what is goin on right now….the Hip Hop World Awards (that’s a mouthful,sofrom nw on,we’ll just call it HHWA). As I was saying the HHWA is like the major point of focus right now. I was nominated for 2 awards. Best Rap Single and Next Rated. The Next Rated category is a huge deal and all, especially as it comes with a brand nu ride. Now that’s hard!! So I’ve been campaigning for peeps to vote, all over facebook n all. Am just hopin it all works out, cos that car would most definitely come in handy…uhuh. Not having a car in this business can be very tricky. U got a thousand and one places to be at in one day and the amount of money u spend on cabs is so not funny..wat!! So am jusgoin to keep my fingers crossed and hope and pray it all works out.Plus am goin to be performing at the awards and I also did the theme song with MI and Banky W and eLDee produced it..mahdcrazy joint. Much Do U Want It? The theme of this year’s HHWA is A Prize To Die For…u knw how far would you go for this and all..that sorta thing. We been having

rehearsals for the performance and we shot the video for the theme song. Can’t wait to see it.The HHWA is on the 16th of may and its goin to hold in Abuja..yep that’s right, Abuja,we comin for u and by the time we done, you’re not gon know wat hit u.lol. Plus you’re going to see a diffferent side of KEL you didn’t even know existed.uhuh!! That reminds me, I had a show on the 8th of may and it was mahdcrazywickid. By the time I was done with the 1st performance, there was a 5 second pause and then the applause was heavy…it’s like errybodyb was tryna understand what they had just seen..lmao..i killed it…that’s for sure. It’s your girl KEL!!!! Then there’s the album that’s supposed to be due anytime soon, so we got a lot of work ahead of us….when I say we, am talkin my manager, Osagie n I. But it’s all good. This is what we signed up for….we stuck thru d struggle n can’t nobody knock our hustle…it’s definitely gon b worth wait (it already is) cos here we r 2dy getttin rich on mad pay!!!! Yea Baby!!!!

Watido! Watido! This has been on a loooooong thing. I didn’t have internet, sad really, no internet…how do people live without internet, how???….lol.So I didn’t even bother to write the next post(somebody say laaaaaaaaaaaazzzzzzy.lmao). Anyhoo, I’ve been workin on a lotta stuff. Prepping for my next video shoot(if ure reading this,then its already been over and done with).hahahahaha..sowwee. If u miss(ed) it….damn.
Right now, am in my studio listening to fly females spittin on a track..mehn, hip hop is taking on a whole ‘nother form in Nigeria. Am honoured to be a part of it. Hip hop is something that i take very personally. It means a lot me. I don’t play with my music, it’s part of who I am. Most people think cos am a girl, hip hop might not mean as much to me as it does to a guy. For me, hip hop is a way of expression. I feel something, i spit it. That’s the way it works for me. It’s like some form of therapy, for real.

Writing is also a form of therapy too. When am going thru stuff, I tend to put on my lappy and write stuff. Weird, but it works.lol.

Ladies and Gentlemen…Boys and Girls….Dudes and Dudettes….the moment you’ve all been waiting for is finally here…Somebody say THE INVESTMENT!!!!! Yes…the album is finally here. Kel’s debut album. It’s been pushed back a lotta times cos of ummm…..stuf….?lets jst say logistics…sounds more official n businesslike that way.lol. So the album’s goin 2 be out last week of may. It’s gon b a mahdcrazy period for me.
For d past week or so, Osagie and I have been waking up by 4am cos we had early morning interviews, both on radio and on tv. Trust me, it wasn’t funny. And seeing that we live at the other end of the world and all, we had to move out as early as possible. Needless to say, it wasn’t pretty:(

Welcome to my very first blog and my very first post…..hopefully, this should be fun. I actually like writing but not many people know that…..scratch that…nobody knows that. Sometimes, I can be a real talker and i like to write it the way am thinkin it and d way am speakin it. So don’t be alarmed if u see a lotta strange stuff in this blog…tis just me and my weird mind.lol.

So, for some of u that don’t knw me, and most of u that do, pls allow me to reintroduce myself.
My name is Kel aka a lotta names that am not gonna mention now…and hip hop is what i do.

So this is takin long enuogh…lol. Been writing this for the past 4 days. It shouldn’t be so hard,right? I know, I actually like writing but I can be so lazy sometimes and do stuff only when it suits me. Horrible habit I know,but am workin on it.:) honest:D

Lets get to the main reason why this blog was created..big shout out to Saggy Sagz for hukin me up:)…so this is a blog about Kel and all things Kel. Shows,interviews,songs,albums,collabos,marriage proposals…lmao. Truth be told though,Kel gets a lotta those.lol. It’s a crazy life I live,but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in this world. Doin what i know n luv…there’s nothing like it, plus the fact that am gettin paid ridiculously aint so bad either.lol.

Leme quickly do a brief bio here. I’ve been rappin since 2000. Hooked up with a gospel label (Testify Records). Struck out with me manager (Osagie Osarenkhoe), did a couple of tracks with a couple of producers till i met with Clarence Peters (CEO,CAPital Hill Music). I put out my singles, Waa Wa Alright(original n remix) or u could call em Waa Wa Alright (part 1 n part 2). Put out the audio n video (coincidentally,shot the 2 videos on the same day…it was mahdcrazy bt who’s complainin?)at d same time which was a brilliant move..courtsey my label and management..and here I am today…Kel…Naija’s Poster Child of Rap:)
